Purchasing jewellery is an extremely rewarding experience. When you walk inside a jewellery store, appreciating at all of those beautiful pieces, selecting that one unique item that you can’t take your eyes off from, and walking out of the store carrying gorgeous bag makes you feel so special, there's no feeling like it. It doesn’t matter how much it costs, you would always want it to look as beautiful as it was when you bought it from the store. So, to help you in looking after it, here are some tips to help you keep it looking as beautiful as ever.


Step 1: Prepare the Jewelry


Preparing any object before painting is essential to get optimum result. To do the needful, wipe the object (jewels) with a tack or lint-free cloth. Remove any dirt, grime or other debris left on the jewels.


Step 2: Hang the Jewelry to Something


Instead of putting jewels on the surface, hang them by clipping a binder clip, hook or wire to something that you don’t mind if gets painted. Afterwards, drape the jewels over the clip. Hanging jewels will help you in making task easier as well as will keepthem safe from over spraying.


Step 3: Go in the Well-ventilated Area


Since, you are going to work with spray-can, it is recommend finding a well-ventilated and dust-free area to complete the task effectively. Also, keep in mind to wear gloves and mask while spraying. Particularly, if you’re spraying in a confined space.


Step 4: Apply Clear Coat Spray Paint


Once you have found a suitable place, it’s time to coat the jewels with clear coat spray paint. Before applying spray paint, it is recommended to read the instructions mentioned on the side of the spray cane. It will helps you in doing the job accurately.

Just shake the spray cane vigorously for one minute and ensure that mixing balls start to rattle. Once the spray-cane thoroughly shook, hold it about 20-22 centimetres away from the object and spray in steady back and forth motion.Your cane should be in the motion while spraying. Just maintain the distance between cane and object.


Step 5: Dry


After spraying, get your jewelry in safe place and leave it for drying. Once the clear coat is dried, just check your items. If you feel, there is need to apply one more coat, just apply that after 1 hour or 48 hours.

  • Shake the cane often while spraying.
  • Don’t use spray paint near open flame.
  • Keep the spray-can out of reach of children.
  • Harmful if inhaled or swallowed.
  • Avoid painting in windy conditions.
  • Do not spray paint the object under direct sunlight.
