Step 1– Prepare Wood Frame

You could use any size wood or canvas as your backdrop and then stain it. Once the plywood was stained you can create a super simple frame made with your own choice angles, then give a color to your frame by using wood stains. You can check this video to know stain application.

Step 2 – Paint Your Wood Slices

Once the plywood and frame were stained then moved on to the wood slices. Now it is too easy to get readymade wood slices as its available online which will save your time.  Unfold the newspaper on the area where you want to paint your wood slices). You can start taping off sections of the wood slices randomly of your choice and then paint the slices. Choose Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Acrylic Spray Paint to paint area of your choice. Let it dry and when once the slices were dry, remove the tape and then tape off another section of the wood slices to add another section of paint.

Step 3 – Paste Slices on Frame

Once all slices get painted and dry, placed them on top of the plywood to figure out where you wanted each piece to go. Since you add a frame to the plywood, you can draw a border of your wish from the edge that you want your wood slices to stay within. First attach your frame and then glue the slices inside with the help of heavy duty glue, Place the frame on top to make sure everything lined up correctly though and paste all the wood slices one by one.

Step 4 – Clear Spray

When you get done by pasting all the wood slices on the frame then don’t forget to give a final touch to it with clear spray as it will protect your DIY art piece from dirt and outside stains. Spray a coat of Rust-Oleum's Specialty Lacquer Gloss Clear Spray. It will keep your own hand made art safe for a long time.
