So here to make your holidays a real fun at home, we’ve come up with some creative ideas that you can easily follow and make beautiful paint glass bottles with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch while cherishing at home.

First and Foremost:

Find a well-ventilated and dust-free environment to work in and cover its surrounding using a drop cloth to protect from overspray. Once find a suitable place, gather all the material that you are going to require for completing this task. Below mentioned are the things that you will require to complete this task, take a look.

  • Lint-Free Cloth
  • Latex Gloves
  • Drop Cloth
  • Glass Bottles
  • Glass Cleaner
  • Krud Kutter Ultra Power Adhesive Remover Spray
  • Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Acrylic Spray Paint
  • Glitter (Optional)
  • Glitter Sealer (Optional)

Step 1: Preparation

Once your workspace is set up, prepare the glass bottles you are going to paint. First, remove the labels from the bottles using soap and water. Also, if you find any stubborn adhesive left on the bottles, wipe it immediately. You can also use Krud Kutter Ultra Power Adhesive Remover Spray to do this task effectively. Once the bottles are clean of any labels and adhesive, wipe them down using glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth and let them dry thoroughly.

Step 2: Decorate

The key to getting this look is to vary the colors and finishes on the bottles. To give your bottles a snowflake pattern, paste snowflake stickers on the bottle. We recommend using a hot glue gun to attach the stickers—this way they won’t peel up once you start painting. Additionally, you can use painter’s tape to create a design on the bottles for a dual-tone effect.

Step 3: Paint

Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Acrylic Spray Paint is available in a range of color options including Gloss Apple Red, Gloss White, Gloss Meadow Green, Satin Blossom White, Satin Poppy Red, & Satin Moss Green. Use the desired color to paint the bottle. To paint the object effectively, take care of the followings:

  • Shake the Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Acrylic spray-can vigorously for a minute and make sure that mixing ball begins to rattle.
  • In case mixing ball fails to rattle, “Do not strike spray-can. Contact Rust-Oleum."
  • Hold the cane upright 10-16” from a surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion.
  • Instead of applying one heavy coat, use more light coats over the surface.
  • Shake the cane often while spraying.
  • Repeat this step to spray paint all of your bottles, varying between colors
  • Then set the bottles aside for 20 minutes.

Additional Steps:

Step 1: Glitter

After letting dry painted bottles for 20 minutes, you can use this optional step to coat your bottles in glitter. It is recommended to match your glitter to the base coat on each bottle. For example, a red bottle will look best top coated with red glitter. To coat the bottles in glitter, use the same procedure as you did for painting the bottles. First, shake the spray-can for a minute and make sure that mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the cane upright 10-16” from a surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion. Spray two or more light coats a few minutes apart, and then let the glitter dry for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Seal the Glitter

After applying the glitter, it is good to seal it with Glitter Clear Sealer so it doesn’t flake off from the bottles. To seal the glitter, use the same technique that you did while applying the glitter. Spray two or more light coats of this sealer over the glitter, and then set the glass aside to dry.

Step 3: Finish

After completing all the above steps, let the bottles dry thoroughly or at least for 24 hour before displaying them.
